PIAS Recordings have commissioned us to produce covers for a series of DJ compilation albums which go under the title 'Electric Soul'. The brief for the first cover in the series demanded an organic psychedelic image, with a gritty urban feel.

To achieve this we snapped Manchester's skyline from our studio window and then montaged this with a roughly painted acrylic sun. The main typography was created in acrylic paint using potato cut letters, whilst the body copy was all handwritten in ink. Other elements were created by dismantling a cd case and making prints from it.
