Art0… is an annual awards ceremony recognising achievement in the arts and presented by Arts Council England. We have designed animated idents for both the Art04 and Art05 awards. In each case the ident features deconstructed elements which resolve over time to form the logo.

For the Art05 awards we wanted to use a low tech approach, in contrast to the 3d modelling techniques we had used in the Art04 animation. We constructed the logo using 1250 tea-lights which were carefully laid out on a blue pvc background. We then filmed this from various angles using our own home-made grip equipment. This involved, amongst other things, mounting the camera on a skateboard and dropping the camera by fishing wire form a height of 7 metres using a home made fishing rod.
